Puja is essentially a ritual suggestive of a symbolic offering of our lives and ... The coconut (Sanskrit: Sriphala = God's fruit) alone is also used to symbolize 'God'.lowers offered to hindu gods and goddesses in pooja (worship) ... varieties of flowers and leaves are used while performing pooja and the connection in oral presentation of these plates of leaves by the relatives in daily lives is not less interesting.In many puja like Satyanarayan etc, banana leaves are used. They are also used at the entrance of gates and are considered very auspicious.Foods such as cooked rice, fruit, clarified butter, sugar, and betel leafare offered in such plates.


Tapara ,the green dryed leaves are always used at home,you never understand  the charm of using sal taparo in puja programs specially made for Satyanarayan Puja and RudreeandLord Shiva Puja at home.With your aunts and grannies you spend most of the times around making the round shape and your weakness to make the design is your identity.The difference to knit with  bamboo stick is the skill to sort out the differences among persons,the talk keeps going on ,I just kept on listening the ideas about this leaf based plates using dried bamboo stick and use of them in most of the rituals we follow in daily life.The family gathering in the name of ritual and celebration is the major part of our life and colorful presentation of Tapara,dry leaf plate is the most fascinating aspect at our home.


Again ,these plates are used to distribute the prasad made in puja program ,my mother always welcomes eleven balpandits from Pashupatinath who recite the bed mantra at our home and they are worshipped with the scents and puja samagree in same taparas.Even,most of pundits in Pashupatinath and Jyotishi ,Astrologer uses same type of taparas in temple.I just keep on looking at their hands how they manage all the taparas in certain area of temple with colors like white and yellow making shubhlabh sign and the differentiate by Tapara ,from akshata or tilak to Purna Patro everything has greater value in my conscious mind to learn more about Tapara.
