Kalka ji
Kalkaji ,the famous temple located in South Delhi is one of the easiest location for interested pilgrims who like to visit such pilgrimage site.One can visit there easily by metro,bus or private vehicle,it is nearby to Kalkaji Metro Station and easily reachable from Nehru place,Friends Colony or Govindpuri of South Delhi within short time as they are nearest areas to it.
This temple has a greater significance in Hindu Religion.Kalka ji is regarded as the form named Maa Kali of Goddess Parvati , her this temple is referred as Jayanti Peetha or Manokaamana Siddha Peetha as there is the belief that one's wish gets fulfilled easily after visiting her sacred place .
Although there are multiple myths regarding the origin of this temple.It is believed as said in Puranhs that in Satya Yug, there used to be battle in god and demons and to avoid the tension of Rakbeej and his demon's tyrannical torture ,all god goddess reached to Lord Brahma and he suggested to deal the problem with Maa Parvati .Then Kaushaki Devi incarnated from the mouth of Devi Parvati and started beheading brutal demons hastily,but the drops on the floor led to birth of other demon so, Maa Kali sprang out of the eyebrows of Devi Kaushaki whose upper lip was touching the horizon while her lower lip covered the hills below which enabled her to gulp each fallen drop of slaughtered demon. Hence, the fiery battle was won by Maa Kali.
Even in Dwapar Yug, Lord Krishna and Padav has visited this place to worship Goddess so that they can win the battle with Qaurav ,such historical myths signify the value of this temple since ancient time.The temple has ancient origin but it is beautifully rebuilt by a marathi king and Mirza Raja Kedarnath of King Akbar ii, even some dharmashalas are made around it by the local donors from Delhi itself ,which hasve brought more charms to the visitors around the world.
During Sundays and public holidays, there seems a lot of crowd to visit the temple,even during Navaratri there seems the flow of religious visitors .There are so many stalls around the temple related to essential things which are regularly used for worshiping the goddess.There are also food stalls which help pilgrimage to enjoy the local food here after puja in the temple.
To Sum up, this temple can be a good destination for interested visitors who want to visit here with own family and get blessings from Kalka ji for the betterment of own family.
