Mom Made Palak Paneer



Mom made food is most interesting fact of home.The  taste of food she prepares whole day is owesome.There are lots of stories how she prepares food at home and the masterchef of home knows the value of dishes during meals.So,I would like to share her recipe here to show how she prepares various dishes at home and feeds all.One of the most popular and healthy vegetable dishes you will find at home is palak paneer. It is cooked all over the south-western region of Asia and is quite a favourite among children and adults too. It is one of those rare foods that are full of taste and nutrition.It is a complete dish. Spinach is a great source of vitamins and cottage cheese or paneer gives the calcium and protein.’  Here are some of the benefits of the dish.The dish has magnesium, folate, vitamin A, vitamin K, potassium, calcium and so much more.the vitamins B2 and B12 in cottage cheese help convert the food into usable energy.  Imagine a whole lot of nutrients in one dish! If you are someone who is on a vegetarian meal plan, it would be wise to add this sumptuous dish.This dish is very low in calories, has less fat and is filling indeed. The best thing about spinach is that you can eat it in chunks but still consume very little calories.Since palak paneer contains spinach, it will lower your blood pressure. Here is how! Spinach contains antioxidants which keep cholesterol levels low and open up those arteries in your heart that could be blocked. It also contains folate which is great for the cardiovascular system. The content of magnesium in spinach shall surely help you lower high blood pressure.
1/4 kg.   paneer pieces (cottage cheese)
1/4 cup palak (spinach)
3 green chillies, minced
3 tbsp curd
1/2 tbsp cumin seeds, roasted powdered
1/4 tbsp black salt
1/4 tbsp garma masala powder.
2 tbsp ghee or oil
A few slices of onion
A few slices of lemon
Salt to taste
1 Boil the Spinach and convert it into sort of paste
2 Mix the palak paste, green chillies, curd, ghee and spices together.
3 Marinate the paneer pieces in it for 2 hours.
4 Cook it in a baking tray or over the stove.  Casually turn the pieces while cooking. Leave them to turn light brown.
5 Serve hot with onion rings and lemon slices.
