Bipinnagar,Jalpaguidi,Bengal Visit And Pitha


I just love some journey during festivals among them to visit Bipinnagar with familiy,we meet Rinky Banargi there and visited around tea gardens of Islampur area ,these tea gardens were ownded by Harishpur Tea Estate and we had visited in comapny vehicle .We came there in  three days from Harishpur ,Namrup,Dibrugarh,Assam and reached to the area of Bipin Nagar in evening.There we had lots of Bengali food among which I liked pitha best.Pathishapta Pitha is a very popular Bengali sweet pancake recipe where the pancake is stuffed with Khoya Kheer. Patishapta pitha is prepared on the occasion of Makar sankranti or Poush Parbon. Patishapta is one of the most delicious pitha recipes of Bengalis.


Ingredients:
  • 7-8 large spoons/500-700 ml of Cow Milk
  • 200 grams readymade Khoya kheer/Milk cake
  • 1 cup of White flour/Maida
  • 1 cup of Rice flour/Chaler guro
  • 1/2 cup of Semolina/Sooji
  • 1 cup of Sugar
  • A pinch of Salt
  • White oil/Vegetable oil(As required)
Method for Batter:
  • Take a bowl.
  • Add White flour/Maida, Semolina/Sooji, Rice flour/Chaler guro, 1/2 cup of sugar and a pinch of Salt to it.
  • Now mix it well. Make sure there must be no lump in the batter. The batter should not be too much thin or thick in consistency.
Method for Filling:
  • Take a saucepan.
  • Add Khoyakheer/Milkcake, rest of the sugar and a large spoon of milk to it.
  • Keep it stirring continuously in low/medium flame, otherwise the filling will burn.
  • Make the filling of medium consistency and keep it apart.

Method for Pitha:
  • Add little amount of oil a pan.
  • Take 1-2 tablespoons amount of batter and spread it on the pan.
  • Add little amount of the filling at the corner of the pancake.
  • After 8-9 seconds roll it.
  • Hold it on the pan for 7-8 seconds and turn the another side and hold it again.
  • Do the same for the rest of the batter.
  • Serve it hot.
