Sound Pollution In GIrinagar Delhi

Living in Delhi has lots of benefits if we see the advanced society there but the dark side also prevails here.Living in Girinagar means  living in noisy area where the vehicles creates lots of noise.Noise pollution is now linked to many ailments - from irreversible hearing loss to anxiety attacks to hypertension and heart disease. Considering that every 10dB increase makes the sound twice as loud to the human ear, the health implications for a regular commuter are serious. The situation is so bad in cities that ENT specialists now say a 20dB loss in hearing among urbanites is "normal".

That's the impact of the constant onslaught of noise on our ears, say experts. It's a subject on which there is limited research and little understanding. People will adjust to living next to a railway station despite the disturbance caused by loud announcements and honking. Loud music is one of the leading cause of police complaints the world over, including India, but we never think too much about the harm of constant honking by cars on the roads just outside their house.

Even silence zones in the city are not safe any longer. And traffic -particularly the incessant honking -has emerged as the major culprit. Loudspeakers and construction work are adding to the cacophony. All studies indicate an all-round breach of safe limits. The damage to your hearing is gradual, say doctors, warning about an impending crisis.

There is no getting away from it. Whether at home or on the road, noise much beyond safe limits assails our senses. So, much so that our toler ance level has gone up but the damage is incalculable. The chaotic traffic, often moving at a snail's pace, causes harassed and stressed out drivers to honk without any reason. Religious events and political processions and rallies are occasions for using loudspeakers without inhibition. Your neighbour too pumps up the music on weekends. Generators and heavy construction equipment can destroy your sleep at night. And scientific studies are now bearing this out though there is no respite in sight.

In fact, the noise at these spots was about 5 to 10 decibels higher except for Mandir Marg where the level was closer to the safe standard. The data only reiterates what people across the city have to suffer every day -annoyingly loud noise, irrespective of whether it's a residential or commercial area.Living in commercial area like Girinagar or Govindpuri has lots of problems for residents among sound pollution comes in first number.
