Jaljeera From UP to Delhi

The most interesting juice during Delhi visit from Sunauliin UP Paribahan bus of UP government till I reach Aananda Bihar Bus stop of Delhi,I love Jaljeera on the ways and taste of masala pan also add a charm to me .A foodie like love the journey via bus to have the local flavors.During the tired sunny days it gives refreshment .Good ol’ jaljeera stored in earthen pots is kept cool by covering it with a wet cloth and decorated on top with bunches of fresh fragrant mint! While jaljeera is not limited to Delhi, the way it is presented and served here is beyond awesome.
Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup packed chopped mint leaves (podhina)
  • ¼ cup packed chopped cilantro (hara dhania)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped ginger (adrak)
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seed dry roasted and powdered (bhuna jeera)
  • Pinch of asafetida (hing)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black salt (kala Namak) available in Indian stores
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind seedless (imli)
  • 2 tablespoon sugar adjust to taste
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup crushed ice
Method
  1.  Blend all the spices into the paste using enough water needed to blend.
  2. Strain the spice mix and squeeze all the spicy water out. Discard the roughage.
  3. Add the water, mix it and serve over the ice.
